Pitchers and catchers have reported so it's time for my annual season projections, simming with the current rosters compiled by the beta team for Out of the Park Baseball 17.

Get ready Cub fans. Last year's pre-season sim correctly projected a Cub post-season and a 10 percent chance of a World Series appearance (yep, they lost in the 2015 sim).

You're headed for another happy year -- and a huge amount of stress to get there.

Here's a first look at the projected 2016 regular season standings.

Stay tuned for more details about 2016. And check out this blog site for my book about the 1929 Cubs, their World Series then, and ace pitcher Charlie Root.

    By Roger Snell

I wrote more than 3,000 stories during my newspaper career and was on the staff of the Akron Beacon Journal when we won the Pulitzer Prize in 1994.

Root for the Cubs is my first book.

Another first is this blog site where I'll write about baseball, other writers, beta testing for Out of the Park Baseball, and anything else that will trick/remind/inspire you to buy my book.

Any money will go to a really great cause -- our first granddaughter, Isabel.
